Yufei Zhang

Hi my name is Yufei Zhang.  I come from China. For my undergraduate education, I graduated from Jilin university majoring in chemistry.  During my undergraduate period, I primarily worked in the State Key Laboratory of Supramolecular Structure and Materials, and I was mainly engaged in the synthesis and performance research of organic photoelectric materials in Pro. Hongyu Zhang's lab.  My hobbies include music, movies, and traveling. 

Kalen Laybourn

Hey there! My name is Kalen Laybourn, and I was born and raised in Wasilla, Alaska. I received my undergraduate education from the University of Alaska, Anchorage where I worked under the supervision of Prof. Patrick Tomco in the synthesis of iron nanoparticles to capture organic pesticides for the purpose of determining longevity of pesticides in the cold Alaska climate. Before joining UB I received my master's degree from WPI in the development of siloxyflavylium photocatalysts for the functionalization of biologically relevant chromanones. When not in the lab I like to read papers, sling, throw knives, and play video games.

Anna Howarth

Hi! My name is Anna Howarth. I am originally from Kennebunkport Maine. I attended University of Southern Maine in Portland Maine, where I majored in Chemistry. I worked under Dr. Peter Woodruff, where my research focused on synthesizing trehalosamine, a new antibiotic for Tuberculosis, using an enzyme catalyst. In my free time I like to hike with my dog Atticus, or read one of my many books on my to be read list.

Hammed Bisiriyu

Hello, my name is Hammed Oluwasola Bisiriyu. I grew up in Ekiti State, Nigeria where I earned my B.Sc. in Biochemistry at Ekiti State University, Nigeria. During my undergraduate thesis I worked with Prof. Bukola Aluko on studying the Anti-Inflammatory and antioxidant activities of alkaloid extract of Citrus aurantium leaves. My hobbies include Music, soccer, and outdoor with friends.

Sayak Ghosh

Sayak is from Chandannagar, WestBengal and completed his Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry at NIPER Ahmedabad in 2023. His master’s project was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Dinesh Kumar, where he worked on the Difunctionalization of Indole Derivatives employing Dimethyl Carbonate. Sayak Joined the Musacchio group in December 2024 to begin his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry. His research interest is on mettalophotoredox based organic transformation, radical chemistry and chemical biology. Besides chemistry, he enjoys playing and watching football, table tennis, hiking and reading.

Alon Nudler

Alon Nudler studied his chemistry undergraduate degree in the Netherlands (University College Roosevelt) and Belgium (KU Leuven). He then completed a M.Sc. degree in Chemistry and Molecular sciences at the University of Helsinki under Professor Timo Repo. His research interest lies predominantly in green chemistry, organometallic catalysis, and synthetic method development. Alon joined the Musacchio Lab in the fall of 2024. In his free time, Alon enjoys travelling and engaging with societal issues.

Sandip Porey

Sandip grew up in Howrah, India. He attended Scottish Church College, Kolkata as a part of his B.Sc. in chemistry and completed master's in chemistry from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College Narendrapur, Kolkata. Thereafter he joined Prof. Debabrata Maiti's group in the department of chemistry IIT Bombay for pursuing Ph.D. in 2017. His area of research was transition metal catalysed distal C-H activation. Apart from lab work he loves playing cricket and takes special interest in cooking various cuisines.
